Avalanche Studios, the team behind Just Cause 2, has announced on its website that it will be moving to a larger office in Stockholm, and that it has “several surprises” in store for 2015.
“2015 is set to be the biggest year since the inception of Avalanche Studios more than a decade ago,” promises the developer.
Both of Avalanche’s offices, one in Stockholm and one in New York, have been recently expanded, meaning that a combined total of about 250 team members are now working for the company. With that groundwork out of the way, the studio will now resume work on those mystery projects. ”Avalanche Studios also has several surprises planned for next year. Keep your eyes on avalanchestudios.com,” teases the developer.
One title we definitely know is in the works is Mad Max, an open-world action game (presumably with plenty of cool vehicles and sawn-off shotguns) that sounds right up Avalanche’s alley. What fans will be speculating is whether one of the surprises the developer has in store is Just Cause 3.
The team actually made a trip to Costa Rica last year, to ”gather reference material” for ”future open world games”. Now that sounds pretty promising to me.
