Reus creator Abbey Games is taking a break from the world-creating titans genre, and is now looking to take ”a motley crew and a mighty ship” to explore the unknown in the 19th century. It’s a battle of antiquity.
We get our crew to discover what’s yet to be put on the map, and compete against our fellow Victorian treasure seekers. Abbey blends ”reality and myth” with Renowned Explorers.
They base the exploration off ”popular and fantastic beliefs” that circulated around at that time, like lost cities of gold and exotic civilizations and tribes.
Each explorer has their own unique style and skill trees in the game, which plays out with turn-based combat and a conversation system. Our glorious finds can be exhibited in a museum to help track the prestige we earn around the world. Abbey Games are developing Renowned Explorers for PC at an undisclosed date.
