Activision has released a new video for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, showing some of the game’s futuristic war gear in action.
Developer Sledgehammer Games’ co-founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey discuss how the future technology and advanced exoskeleton that players will have access to impacts that familiar Call of Duty gameplay.
So there’s hover-bikes, directed energy weapons, scanner grenades and more. It’s apparently all based on the germs of future warfare tech that exist right now. I’m getting a very Crysis vibe from the exoskeleton itself, which will allow players to leap about, run like Usain Bolt with his arse on fire and even cloak up to go invisible.
A lot of it’s gimmicky, sure, but there’s a hundred times the inventiveness on display in this brief video than there was in the whole of Call of Duty: Ghosts.
We’ll see if Sledgehammer can make a winning start to their tenure on the blockbuster franchise when Advanced Warfare hits PC and consoles on November 4 this year.
