Codemasters has released a new DLC pack for GRID Autosport that allows players to take three British-made supercars for a spin.
The Best of British pack lets players get their hands on the McLaren F1 GTR, the Aston Martin Zagato V12 and the McLaren Mercedes SLR 722.
I sometimes forget that we’re quite good at building supercars in the UK, because we basically don’t seem to manufacture anything any more. Just watch out in case the doors fall off mid-race or the car turns out to be made of horsemeat or something.
“We spend hours of research and a lot of time behind the pad and the steering wheel to make them (the cars) as accurate as possible,” says designer Gehan Pathiraja. ”There’s a lot of work that goes into it to make it feel like that car. Because we’ve taken a handcrafted approach, we really care for the gameplay and we want other people to experience that as well.”
The McLaren F1 is “an awesome road car” that rewards aggressive cornering and suits Endurance racing. The Aston Martin Zagato is ”powerful and torquey”, and powers fiercely out of corners, while the McLaren Mercedes SLR has a huge super-charge v8 engine that ”sounds like an old World War Two Spitfire.”
