The remake The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is set to expand even further as creator Edmund McMillen has announced plans for an expansion are under way, with plenty more from a ”very large design doc”.
He’s planning on a ”very huge chunk” of gameplay with a new game mode, which should ”almost double” what we can do. McMillen is also asking the ”vast and creative” Isaac fans for ideas.
”At this point most of the hardcore fans have 100%’d the game, and a high % of you watched this and are working on it yourselves. Now that you have experienced rebirth and know what it has to offer, I want your input on what you would all like to see in the expansion,” blogged McMillen of Nicalis.
”Once the holidays end, the Nicalis gang will be jumping back into the abyss and digging into the very large design doc I have ready for em. I have big plans for this expansion, I hope to add a very huge chunk of gameplay in the form of a new game mode that will almost double the amount of things you can do, I’m very proud of this new design.”
What is confirmed in this expansion are a ”ton more enemies, bosses, new areas, endings and a new playable character as well as a slew of new unique items to play with”.
McMillen will be ”cherry picking” the top ten best suggestions for what to include in this expansion. Where to direct your creative diarrhoea? That would be in this Reddit post.
