Ubisoft Kiev, the sub-studio that Ubisoft typically hands all its PC ports off to, will also be handling PC development for both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4.
It’s news that won’t do much to convince fans that Ubisoft is taking the PC versions of both games as seriously as their console counterparts.
The Kiev studio was responsible for the PC versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed III, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. None of which were much cop, to be honest. Black Flag and AC3 in particular were a real pain in the arse to get working properly.
Far Cry 3 was actually developed specifically for PC and came with a bunch of graphical options (though it was admittedly still far from perfect), so it’s odd to see Ubisoft revert back to a model that hasn’t worked very well in the past.
What do you think of the news? Worried about those PC versions already?
