Yesterday saw several leaked images of three maps to be added in Call of Duty: Ghosts next map pack, Invasion. Now there’s a full trailer revealing all the new content players can expect.
So this time there’s actually four maps in total. Favela is your normal Call of Duty fare, a simple city-based arena. The rest are mental. Pharoah is set in an Egyptian ruin, and contains various fiery death traps. Departed is set in the midst of a Mexican ‘day of the dead’ festival, and allows you to play as a dual-wielding Mariachi if you net the right field order. Finally, Mutiny is set on a pirate ship, and has ghost pirates in it. Okay.
As for the next Extinction mode map, it’s called Awakening, and here’s the plot synopsis from Activision:
“In Awakening, the team descends into the perilous alien underworld to strike at the subterranean fortress of the Ancestors – the mysterious puppet-masters behind the Cryptid invasion. Armed with a range of new hi-tech weapons and equipment, the team must penetrate a series of defensive barriers to reach the Ark and unlock the secrets of the Ancestors’ psychic powers. As the final battle draws closer, the fate of the Earth and the future of the human race hang in the balance.”
Invasion hits the Xbox One first on June 3 as part of Microsoft’s exclusivity deal, with PC and other console versions to follow.
