The Rezzed event in Birmingham hosts many indie game projects and one of those is Gang Beasts, which is a multiplayer co-op party game inspired by classic melee brawlers like Capcom’s Final Fight.
The difference here is that Gang Beasts is physics-based, and full of hilarity. It’s in the early pre-alpha stages and they plan for it to arrive on Steam Early Access, but it’s downloadable now.
The indie team plan support for PC, Max, Linux and Android consoles. Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U versions could happen ”if we can secure the necessary licences.”
”Gang Beasts is a stupidly silly local multiplayer party game with doughy ragdoll physics and horrific environmental hazards. In the current pre-alpha players can grab, push, pull, punch, and throw their friends from wrestling rings, speeding trucks, and suspended platforms, and into mechanical grinders, additional levels will include fiery incinerators, chemical vats, and moving trains,” blurbs the IndieDB page.
The current Gang Beasts pre-alpha build version available is 0.0.2. It’s perhaps the only game you’ll ever need.
