CBS just announced a new Star Trek television series based on the JJ Abrahms films that will be airing in 2017, and Star Trek Online is celebrating with free goodies for players.
”As lifelong fans of the show, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for our next chance to enjoy weekly episodes of a new ship and crew facing the outer reaches of the final frontier,” said executive producer Stephen Ricossa in a Star Trek Online blog post.
The free stuff being given away is the Enterprise Era Bundle Pack, which is based on the Scott Bakula-led television show, and includes the NX-01 Enterprise starter ship, the standard and mirror variant uniforms, and the T’Pol jumpsuit. It will be available for free today and tomorrow.
Star Trek Online will also have a bonus XP week from now til 9 November 2015 as well.
Ricossa concluded in the post, ”I’m certain everyone is as excited as we are for the new show, and I look forward to seeing everyone enjoying their new items in game!”
