Developer Codex Worlds has announced that its action-tower defense starship combat game Infinium Strike is now in closed beta for the backers who supported its Kickstarter crowdfunding, which was recently concluded. The drive raised over $21,000 from backers on 21 September 2015. Codex Worlds is a studio comprised mainly of former members of Ubisoft and Stormfront Studios.
Infinium Strike puts the player in the role of a weapons officer aboard the battlecarrier Freedom Strike. The ship must fend off attacks from a horde of sentient alien ships known as the Wrog. To do so, the player must build turrets, send out fleets of specialized fighting vessels and utilize powerful SuperTech weapons..
The beta includes a tutorial and the first few campaign missions, and the client is currently available on the game’s Steam page. Gamers who didn’t back the game on Kickstarter can join the beta by paying $25 on the official site.
The full game is due to be released on Steam and the Humble Store sometime in early 2016.
