In a week punctuated by several high-profile game announcements, including XCOM 2 and Fallout 4, you might be forgiven for letting pigeon dating simulator sequel Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star pass under your radar.
Yes, the cult 2011 visual novel from manga artist Moa Hato and developer Mediatonic got a sequel, and Devolver is releasing the remastered, translated version of that game on PC for the first time.
“Hatoful Boyfriend fans will travel to fantastically styled worlds, meet interesting new chickadees, and find romance in elegantly designed winter wonderlands and a new mysterious watercolor world,” promises the press release.
‘Pigeon dating simulator’ is a terrifyingly accurate way to describe the Hatoful Boyfriend series; players can choose which fine fowl they want to court through branching dialogue trees, with the choices they make directly affecting the ending they receive.
