ColdWood Interactive’s charming platformer Unravel got a brand new trailer at Gamescom today, and it took the game’s cute yarn hero to the seaside.
”It’s inspired by happy, sunny memories of going to the coast,” says developer Martin Sahlin of the new level, ”both as a child and as a parent.”
As a being made entirely from spools of red yarn, you’ll need to be careful just how far you venture - your yarn supply will run low the further you go, so you have to keep on the lookout for new threads, which will let you travel further. There’s some nice physics work on display - you can tie yarn between two posts to form a bridge, then use that bridge as a makeshift trampoline to reach new areas.
Unravel looks like a very pretty, very adorable little game. It’s set for release on PC and consoles next year.
