German studio Reality Twist will release Coast Guard later this month, an action-simulation game in which you take on the role of Finn Asdair, a ”charismatic and committed” coast guard officer.
The game features a full story campaign with various rescue and crime-fighting missions, telling the tale of a ”complex criminal case that quickly evolves in to a far-reaching conspiracy.” That sure makes the life of a Coast Guard sound more exciting than I thought it would be. The game is actually covering some topical issues, though Reality Twist is keen to point out that it’s not capitalising on recent international developments.
”Featuring story elements written over a year ago and that by unfortunate coincidence reflect the tragic refugee crisis currently engulfing Europe, Asdair and his crew will tackle human traffickers inthe game as well as trying to rescue refugees trying to make their way to better lives,” the team writes.
Certainly something a bit different in the works here. Colour me intrigued. Coast Guard launches digitally this October 21 for £14.99/$19.99.
