Frozenbyte announced several new features of a content update for their puzzle-platform game Trine 3: Artifacts of Power. The most prominent features include a new level and support of SteamOS and Linux.
Many of the changes to the game are featured in an official update video that was posted on Youtube and can be seen below. The new Quest For Cake level seems to be a rather tongue in cheek reference to the Portal series, what with the cubes that seems to be of prominent with some of the puzzles (or sabotaging your co-op cohorts in one instance). It also advertises that the game will be offered at 50% off in honor of the update. This appears to be in place on Steam and Humble Bundle, but GOG.com isn’t reflecting the sale just yet as of this writing.
The game suffered some backlash due to it’s short length in the past and Frozenbyte has been working to fix that in support of the product. This seems evident in the update trailer in that in addition to its new features, it prominently features the regular features of the game, almost like a new launch trailer.
Some new features outside of the ones already mentioned and those mentioned in the trailer included multiple bug fixes and optimizations to the game all-around, including removing a prominent exploit for the Wizard character. A full list of the changes can be seen on the update announcement page on Steam.
This update is out now across all available outlets for the game.
