Additional details about the upcoming Ice Age open world game Far Cry Primal have been revealed in a new developer diary “Creative Visions”, in which the developers discuss the origins of the game’s conception and the world in which players will be forced to survive in.
It seems that Far Cry Primal will be sharing a lot of gameplay with titles such as The Long Dark in which the protagonist finds himself stranded alone in the fertile glacial valley of Oros. They will be crafting tools and dealing with having to find food and shelter, while being the prey as well as the predator.
Much research went into building the world, as ancient tools and clothes were researched; one developer notes that by the time of the game’s setting, humans had developed 150 ways to carve a stone. Focus went into how humans at the time spoke to one another and what sort of culture they had.
Far Cry Primal is due to be released in February 2016.
