Something shadowy and sinister is in the works over at Square Enix as they’ve begun a ”very special stream” that’s unfolding as an ”interactive reveal” for one of their Western development studios.
At the end of this three day event we’ll be shown the ”next major game”, but until then Twitch viewers will be affecting ”several key moments” through chat. Is this for the next Deus Ex?
We know that Eidos Montreal are already working on a new entry in the cyberpunk series, especially after the roaring success of Human Revolution that managed to capture the vibe and essence of Warren Spector’s Deus Ex.
Deus Ex: Universe is the big mysterious thing that Square has been teasing and trademarking, but it’s believed to be less of a specific title and more an overarching goal to tie all new Deus Ex experiences together.
”The concept behind Deus Ex: Universe is to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games,” said the studio’s David Anfossi.
”It’s a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before.”
Whatever this Project CKP is, it will soon spill its secrets to us. ”Ultimately, the next major game from this Western studio will be revealed live on this channel,” teases the announcement. Its hashtag is #cantkillprogress, which certainly sounds cyberpunk related.

The next ‘vote’ for the reveal is scheduled today @ 10.00 PDT / 13.00 EDT / 19.00 CEST.
