Hi-Rez Studios’ free-to-play shooter Tribes Ascend is set to receive a big, new public test server update this month, marking the first time that the development team has touched the game since 2013.
The new update is appropriately titled Out of the Blue Patch 1.1, and adds a new CTF map, several balance adjustments to the game’s classes, and other minor tweaks to UI and gameplay.
”These are just the early changes and do not represent the entirety of the actual patch we will bring to live. Think of it as an early smaller cut of exploit/minor bug fixes, and class changes,” writes Hi-Rez’s creative director Sean McBride on Reddit.
It’s not often that a game comes back to life after two years in the wilderness. The plan is to have the PTS update go live ”on or before September 14”.
