GTA Online is getting a big new update this week, adding a whole bunch of glitzy toys for you to spend your ill-gotten funds on. Which is fitting, because the update in question is called Ill-Gotten Gains Part One.
Most of the new stuff is aimed at rich players, and is available via the various luxury in-game shops. It includes new cars with gaudy custom paintjobs, gold helicopters, a new Combat PDW gun, and “hundreds of new clothing items and accessories”.
“Due to a surge in high-end crime across southern San Andreas, demand for luxury goods and services is at an all-time high,” writes Rockstar over on Newswire. “Upscale merchants of all kinds are scrambling to fill their inventories to serve the newly wealthy. The first of two major deliveries this summer will be hitting the showrooms of luxury car dealerships, the shelves of top arms suppliers and other prestigious retailers in June.”
Ill-Gotten Gains Part One will go live this Wednesday, June 10. From Friday June 12 through Sunday June 14 there will also be a special event weekend to celebrate the update, with the usual opportunities for earning extra cash, RP and so on. Rockstar promises more concrete details on that soon.
