Sword Coast Legends is perhaps one of the most disappointing games of the year, but developer n-Space has not been idle, and has released a new developer diary detailing the massive update now available for the roleplaying game, called the Community Pack Two.
The most striking addition the update brings is the introduction of the Drow as a playable race. Gamers wanting to bring out their inner Drizzt Do’Urden can roll a new drow character, which will have access to the usual race abilities including Faerie Fire and Darkness. If that weren’t enough, players can even play as Lolth, the demon Spider Queen and goddess of the Drow race.
Many of the gameplay improvements are aimed at making the game smoother. For example, there’s now the option to have individual loot pickups instead of a party pool; players will see the drops only they can pick up. Total party wipes can now be set by the DM to just reset the dungeon and send players back to their camp.
DMs will have more control, as well. There are over 170 new objects that can be put in rooms. The level editing also includes cabins, villages and cities, with small city sections getting easy customization by swapping entire buildings in or out, or adding or removing access to interior areas. Level editors can even add visual effects to their modules such as fire, smoke, spiders, and mist.
If gamers have issues with Community Pack 2, n-Space urges players to post to the bug thread in the Steam community forum.
