Europa Universalis IV has received a new update that adds events, portraits and advisors celebrating one hundred great women throughout history.
Expect new events tied in to the lives and achievements of Catherine the Great, La Malinche, Elizabeth I, Caterina Sforza and others.
Some of these events will add little buffs and nation points in the traditional EUIV manner, but you’ll also be able to hire some of these historical figures as advisors, complete with their own specialisatons and portraits, generals or rulers.
The free DLC has been released to celebrate International Women’s Day, which took place yesterday. ”It’s no surprise that the role of women in history isn’t as well known as that of men,” head of Paradox Development Studios Thomas Johansson explains. “Europa Universalis, admittedly, hasn’t done a lot to foreground their contributions. We thought that International Women’s Day was the best time to do a little bit to help balance the scales and introduce our audience to some very interesting people.”
You’ll find 100 new events, female portraits for all 22 adviser types, and a bunch of other tweaks and fixes, all of which you can find in the official patch notes here.
