Free-to-play Fable Legends will be coming to PC and Xbox One when it releases, and game director David Eckelberry confirms there’ll be plenty of post-release content pouring out of Lionhead Studios.
Players will receive new ”heroes, quests, and creatures” regularly, although it’s unclear whether this new content would be free or behind a pay-wall. Lionhead has stated before they want ‘everything open’.
Microsoft’s Xbox bosses were ”almost as enthusiastic as we were” when unveiling the idea of Fable Legends, said Eckelberry. He is adamant the UK-based studio, once home to Peter Molyneux, isn’t shoved around by the corporate giant; they’re left to toy around with new ideas.
Fable Legends releases on PC and Xbox One with cross-platform support. Currently there’s no release date. Unlike previous Fable titles there is no central hero but a group of them questing together against another player who takes the role of the villain.
