Victoria 3 Patch 1.8 Release Date
The bulk of information regarding what we might expect from Victoria 3’s patch 1.8 comes from developer diary #124, in which the team behind the game outlines its plans.
The confirmed release date for Patch 1.8 will happen on the 21st November, when the Pivot of Empire Immersion Pack launches.

In terms of content, it has been confirmed that “the next update (1.8) will be a standalone free update that should knock a point or two off this list, but will mainly be focused on bug fixing, general polish and more AI improvements.”
The list mentioned in the quote above refers to the items marked as “updated” on the game’s general roadmap, linked above, which will likely see some improvements in the next few patches.
These include ensuring that the AI will more frequently succeed in events like the Meiji Restoration or the Alaska purchase, “through a mix of AI improvements and content tweaks,” but also making the base game’s journal entries “feel meaningful and impactful for players to interact with.”
On top of that, Paradox also plans to add “more country, state and region-specific content to enhance historical flavor of different countries,” as well as “adding laws that expand on diversity of countries and introduce new ways to play the game.”
It’s worth mentioning that these plans can shift, depending on how development progresses and whether or not issues pop up.
That being said, Victoria 3’s patch 1.8 release date should give us at least a few reasons to hop back in for a new playthrough. More details will likely be shared over the coming weeks.
