The next game from Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth is called Pit People, and it’s a sobering look at what might happen if a giant space-bear crashed into Earth and destroyed everything. No, really.
Originally the studio’s fourth game was going to be entirely set in a gladiatorial arena, hence the name, but now it’s expanded into a wider adventure. Behemoth decided to keep the title, since ”a key moment in the story” happens in the arena.
”Through the chaos, Horatio, Pipistrella, Yosef, Sofia, and Gluten have found each other. They’ve formed a team to conquer each untimely obstacle,” writes the developer.
Thanks to a twenty minute gameplay video (above) released back when the game was title-less, we know that Pit People is a hex-based strategic combat game playable in singleplayer and co-op, with a cartoonish art style and an irreverent sense of humour. There’s now an official website for the game, but other information is pretty scarce at the moment.
Pit People is coming to Steam and Xbox One at some point in the near future, but there’s no exact release date yet.
