If you’ve ever played Overkill Software’s excellent heist thriller PayDay 2, you’ll know it has an absolute shedload of DLC – guns, missions, masks, and extra characters. John Wick even makes an appearance.
The developer’s hoping to tempt you into trying out some of those goodies by offering a permanent price reduction on both the base game, and every piece of content released in the first sixteen months of its lifespan.
”As we continue to develop Payday 2,” writes Overkill on the game’s website, “working on additional free updates as well as paid DLC, we feel it’s time to adjust the pricing of both Payday 2 as well as all DLC released during the first 16 months of its lifespan. We hope these permanent price reductions will allow you to purchase a DLC that you might of been missing, or introduce a friend to the world of thieves and heistery.”
You can check out the entire list of discounted items here. There’s a hell of a lot there, and Overkill’s commendable support shows no sign of winding down. Meltdown is the latest offering, adding yet another new heist mission, a new ‘Rad Mutant’ mask, and various stability fixes.
It also features a new XP system, which rewards you for objectives completed within a heist rather than simply offering a lump sum once you’ve completed the mission. Essentially, the more things you do in a mission now, the more XP you’ll earn. Update 67: Meltdown is out now.
