Chris Roberts revealed some of the cast that will be lending their voices to Squadron 42, the episodic single player campaign in the upcoming space combat sim Star Citizen, highlighted by Gary Oldman and Mark Hamill.
Hamill is no stranger to Chris Roberts titles, having appeared in previous Wing Commander games, while Oldman’s videogame voice acting work includes Viktor Reznov from the Call of Duty games.
Other major talents working on the project include John Rhys-Davies, who is another Wing Commander veteran, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis, Mark Strong, who was the voice of Titus in Warhamnmer 40,000: Space Marine, and Liam Cunningham, best known as Davos Seaworth from A Game of Thrones.
Cloud Imperium Games is unveiling each actor’s role one by one. Oldman is voicing Admiral Ernst Bishop, who is, according to his bio, ”a lifelong soldier, Bishop quickly distinguished himself as leader and strategist by seeing angles that others don’t and taking risks that others won’t.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Mark Hamill and John Rhys-Davies will be able to reprise their Wing Commander roles.
