Epic Games launched a website for a new project called Paragon over a week ago. Little news has come out on what exactly the game will be. The site features little info other than some guys with guns and a sign up for the beta. They revealed a new character today: A beefy metal-clad hulk named Steel.
Steel appears to be of some supporting capacity. When you go through a character’s teaser on the Paragon website, you are then offered a choice that seems related to an unlock in the game. Three of Steel’s four choices are centered on buffing his allies stats either defensively or offensively. He has some tankiness about his look as well. Something tells me he’s going to be the type of character to charge into the fray, be a bullet sponge, and offer tide-turning boosts to his comrades.
In these times when character-driven first-person shooters are being announced all over the place, Paragon very well may be Epic Games’ answer to Overwatch, Battleborn, Paladins, etc. It’s hard to tell much more than what can be seen by the characters shown and the choices associated with them, but Epic seems content to let info trickle a little at a time right now.
The next character announce seems to be a feather clad fellow named Sparrow and is slated for November 19th.
