Triumph Studios has announced a public Steam Beta release for the upcoming Age of Wonders III Update 1.5, which should be here ”in a couple of weeks.”
It officially launches as a free update next to the upcoming expansion. The patch includes diplomatic AI profiles, overhauled diplomacy, and the return of PBEM multiplayer for that old school feel.
”…the Mac and Linux versions of the game are now nearing completion. We hope to have both these versions ready to drop together with the Beta of Update 1.5 on Steam, to launch together with the new expansion,” blogged the studio.
The new expansion features a playable Frostlings race from previously in the series, and a Necromancer class for all the races, adding new units and play styles to the turn-based strategy.
