Gamers won’t have to play through the entire single player campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops III to see the ending, as all of the campaign’s chapters will be available the minute the player boots up the game.
According to game director Jason Blundell, ”It gives them the flexibility to consume the content how they want. The unlocking level system is an archaic mentality we’ve had since we did bedroom development back in the day - you do this, then go on to the next one.”
Blondell is unconcerned about people jumping ahead. ”When Netflix release House of Cards and do all the episodes, does everyone just jump to the end and go and play the last episode? Sure you can. But it’s about the journey, though, right?” he reasoned.
Besides, people speed run and post the endings on YouTube anyway.
