You may want to finish downloading before you Finish Him! Mortal Kombat X is rather broken right now on Steam as it uses the new download system Valve has introduced, which partially acquires some of the game to play early.
However it’s made the brawler highly unstable and even selecting options can cause desktop crashes. Only around 3GB of data will download, but the rest of the game trickles in behind it.
23 packs make up the rest of the actual game, but they’re not downloading and installing fast enough leading to serious problems. The new system was barely announced and its debut is proving to be a little embarrassing. Apparently checking off the individual packs in your Steam Library can make sure the data is downloaded.
”As many Steam community members have noticed, the size of the initial pre-load for Mortal Kombat X is about 3 GB. This is because we are using a new feature of Steam that allows the game to be played while the full download is streamed and installed in the background.”
“As soon as the game is played for the first time, a batch of DLC content will appear in your download queue. Check the Steam client to see the download progress on DLC items labeled Mortal Kombat X Install Pack 01 through 23.”
“You’ll be able to play the game while these downloads complete.”
Mortal Kombat X is now available on PC through Steam, just as soon as it actually downloads.
