After a few years of Steam Early Access, the roleplaying game The Age of Decadence, which takes place after the fall of the Roman Empire, has finally been launched today on Steam. The game had been in development since 2012.
Developer Iron Tower refers to their game as ”an unabashedly old school RPG” which ”doesn’t make concessions.” It features turn-based combat, dialogue trees, and the choices users make during the game are permanent leading to branching storylines.
The Age of Decadence is more reality based, with no monster hunts or magical lands. Instead, it deals with living in a harsh land full of political intrigue and backstabbing. Players must make alliances and decisions as they rise through the ranks of society, choosing their own moral as they ascend.
