Free-to-play shooter Zombies Monsters Robots has received a new update that introduces drone companions, which will proved valuable backup when you’re shooting zombies and monsters. Or indeed robots.
Titled Game of Drones (hur hur), the update also adds five new maps, a new competitive game mode, and an improved leveling-rewards system.
“Players can unlock four unique drone types,” explains the game’s Western publisher En Masse Entertainment, “each with their own unique attacks and appearance. Players can also customize their drone with abilities and modifications to best suit their play style and the operation at hand.”
Gatling Gundrones fire faster but do less damage per hit, Thunderdrones lob grenades, Lazerdrones fire… lasers, and Dragondrones fire area bursts of electricity. The five new maps include an Assault Ops co-op campaign, with a new Nightmare difficulty setting.
As for the reworked levelling system, it adds more free upgrades, including permanent weapons and weapon modifications, drones, turrets, and costumes.
You can grab the ZMR free-to-play client from Steam or the game’s main website, should you be so inclined.
