Sheltered is the game where you create a family of unfortunates, and then lock them up in a nuclear shelter in the middle of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Oh, and then you try and get them to survive. Though when I played it, I accidentally sent Pops up top without a sealed suit to look for some string. There was something of a radiation incident. The family cat seemed to do all right though.
Anyway, my point is that the game doesn’t have you just passively wait until disaster hits. Sometimes you’ve got to venture out into the wastes, and out there you’re going to run into trouble - trouble is the subject of the game’s latest update, which reworks combat and questing.
”The Combat and Quest update shakes things up in a number of ways,” writes the team at Unicube and publisher Team17. ”We’ve changed the way the combat looks, with a new interface and new options. You can now steal from enemies, disarm them or even inflict a bleeding status effect on them. There are now quests where NPC’s in the wasteland will give you tasks, so look out for yellow markers on your map. And if you hear a knock on your door, it may be the beginning of a new scenario, a different form of quests with new tasks and challenges.”
Alongside that, there’s the usual array of bug fixes and tweaks, the full patch notes for which you can find here.
Sheltered[/b[ has been on Early Access for a couple of months now. It’s definitely worth a look.
