Never Alone, Upper One Games’ puzzle platformer set in the wilds of Alaska and starting a young Inupiat girl and her loyal pet fox, will receive its first exapnsion pack this Summer.
Titled Foxtales, the new DLC is inspired by the folk tale of the Two Coastal Brothers, and see heroine Nuna and Fox travelling across the Alaskan landscape in their canoe, getting menaced by the local wildlife and suriviving extreme weather.
Spring has come to the Arctic as Nuna and Fox climb aboard their umiaq (a sealskin canoe) and take to the waters of the coasts, rivers and lakes of Northwest Alaska. They’ll travel across open seas, swim through the ruins of a sunken village and paddle up the Noatak River on a mission to rescue a new friend, explains Upper One.
The expansion also contains five new ‘Cultural Insight’ videos, which shed more light on the culture of the Inupiat, and specifically on the family of Willie Panik Goodwin, Sr, an Alaskan native whose telling of the folk tale inspired the DLC.
Never Alone: Foxtales will be available this July 28 for PC and consoles. No word on pricing just yet.
