Ubisoft are releasing an update for their much maligned digital platform uPlay later this month. In an official forum post, Community Developer Ubi-Cain showed off the new UI and detailed increased functionality. The major change being the ability to launch your game from Steam or desktop shortcut, without having to launch uPlay as well.
So now you can sleep soundly that you don’t have to launch multiple clients to play a game you purchased from the digital store of your choice. Not bad for 2015 I’m sure you’ll agree, but don’t get too excited as uPlay will still “show up once you have finished playing your game and will display the page for the game you just played.” Just in case you needed a reminder of what you’ve been doing for the last two hours.
The uPlay client update will be tested later this month and rolled out once Ubisoft “think it’s stable enough.”
