The absolutely-no-dragons RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance from Czech Republic developer Warhorse Studios has an E3 trailer teasing it’s medieval open world full of strife, melee and sieges.
It’s currently in Early Access with a technical Alpha version available to backers. This RPG is strictly ‘fantasy free’ so there’s no giant spider caves or pillaging orc bands - just village bumpkins.
It’s powered by CryEngine 3 and is currently expected to hit PC and next-gen consoles in late 2016. It’s set during 1369-1415 at the time of the Hussites - a Christian movement, which would ultimately lead up to the Protestant Reformation. Fun times.
There’ll be quests and we decide how to approach them, with branching dialogue unfolding the story. There are going to be skill-based mini-games representing things like blacksmithing, alchemy and lock-picking etc. The RPG will also have an ”advanced reputation and law system” that could see us thrown in the stocks, fined or even tortured. Warhorse intends to expand the RPG with Acts, and the Early Access technical Alpha can be bought for $50 on the official website.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first-person, open world ‘realistic’ RPG.
