You can now ride around on an ape’s shoulders in Ark: Survival Evolved
I think, at long last, my life is complete. It turns out that all I ever really wanted is to have a Gigantopithecus pal who can lift me up on his shoulders, and for us to run around a tropical island punching dinosaurs in the head.
Ark: Survival Evolved has granted me that wish. The prehistoric ape has been added in the game’s latest patch, along with scuba gear and improved underwater exploration mechanics.
But really, it’s the big ape you’re interested in, right?
“The Gigantopithecus Fibrarator is a strange creature,” explains developer Studio Wildcard. “It is usually quite passive, but it has a very short temper when it comes to it’s personal space. Once, another creature gets close, this gentle giant quickly becomes a rampaging beast!”
“It can be tamed via careful, non-violent feeding without raising it’s aggression, when domesticated the hairy-apelike creature can don a helmet on it’s head and ride it’s survivor on it’s shoulders to utilize it’s tremendous strength and throw them over enemy barricades and walls!”
The update is out now, so get out there and tame an ape.
