Awesomenauts is a colorful competitive platformer that was released by Romino games in August 2012. It’s had fairly positive success over the years and today Romino announced their latest expansion for the game, Overdrive, along with a lovely video showing off what players can expect to see.
Posted up on the Romino Games official Youtube, it would appear players are getting hefty haul of new options for their head to head battles. New matchmaking and overhauled game mechanics are going to ensure that players progress smoothly and get paired properly and efficiently alongside and against players of equal skill. Additionally, players are getting a brand new map to play in the form of Starstorm Station.
There will be three new characters joining the roster: Eccentric inventor Professor M. Yoolip, bounty hunter Chucho Krokk, and toddler genius Jimmy riding in his fighting robot, the LUX5000. These characters will be premium and players will have to purchase them. As of this time they can be pre-ordered as a pack from the Awesomenauts website which will also get players access to a Clockwork Yoolip skin for free.
If you don’t want to buy characters, that’s fine. Those three are the only part of the Overdrive expansion thus far that won’t be free, and that includes a visual overhaul of the currently available character Sheriff Lonestar as well as another character known as Ix the Interloper who will be released and playable free of charge later on.
Awesomenauts: Overdrive will be released sometime in March of 2016.
