The multiplayer Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will kick off on the PS4 this August 19, before heading to the Xbox One and PC from August 26 through August 30.
“During the beta,” Activision writes, “fans will have an opportunity to try the new momentum-based, chained movement system, find the perfect Specialist to fit their play style, get a feel for the new multiplayer maps, and more.”
To get into said Beta, you’ll have to pre-order the game. It will give you a sneak peek at the “momentum-based, chained movement” system that developer Treyarch’s been talking up, as well as the multiplayer Speciliaists – these are basically MOBA-style hero characters with their own unique skills.
Treyarch will share more details about the exact contents of the Beta in the coming weeks. Black Ops 3 is out this November 6, and takes the series into the near-future once more. There will, inevitably, be lots of drones and robots invovled.
