For gamers who enjoy JRPG-style combat and dungeon crawling, indie developer Airship Syndicate not only had their Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for Battle Chasers: Nightwar funded in less than 72 hours, but the developer has announced that it has also gotten greenlit on Steam.
The main feature that the developer is promoting is that the game has a non-linear story, unfolding via exploration of the world, finding secret items and landmarks which will dynamically change the plot. The game focuses on the concept of uncovering lore as well, as players earn “Lore Points” for their discoveries.
Airship Syndicate also revealed in their Kickstarter update:
We did a quick, informal poll on Twitter to see what topic people would be most excited to see covered in a big update: dungeons or items. Items won in a semi-landslide, so expect to see a deep dive into the item system coming up soon!
The game’s development team’s pedigree consists of ex-Vigil Games veterans, including two of the company’s original founders, Joe Madureira and Ryan Stefanelli. Players interested in checking out the game can visit the Kickstarter page here.
