I love the Churchill tank. There’s something so… functional about it. No threatening profile, no fancy tricks, just a big old caterpillar track with a metal box plonked on top. Simple and classic.
Or at least I thought that was the case. It turns out that the Churchill that will appear in Company of Heroes 2’s upcoming British Forces expansion will come in a number of flavours, all of which are demonstrated in a new video from relic.
The MK VII is your standard model, with a couple of front-facing machine-guns and a 75MM cannon. The Crocodile exchanges that anti-armour capability for a massive flamethrower, which is great for scorching infantry out of cover. The A.V.R.E, meanwhile, is a siege model with a nasty 290MM bombard mortar.
Make sure you watch to the end of the video for another, slightly more slapstick tactical ability. The British Forces expansion is out September 3. Check out our interview with Relic here.
