CD Projekt RED is going to spend the weekend on a rather important patch for The WItcher 3. Right now the RPG is suffering a problem with collecting quest experience whereby none is rewarded. None!
It was said this only affected quests that were 6 levels or more below Geralt’s current level, but it’s not consistent. This ’no XP glitch’ is also believed to be only on PC and PS4. The patch won’t retroactively add lost XP.
”We would like to let everyone know that we are aware of the XP glitch players are reporting and we are working to have it fixed as soon as possible across all platforms (Monday for PC & patch 1.04 on consoles in the following days),” posted the studio’s Marcin Momot.
”At the same time we want to shed some light on the issue. First of all, it doesn’t impact the game balance in any significant way. Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game.”
He added: ”No. The XP won’t be added back for the finished quests. Sorry about this.”
Not everyone has been affected by this ‘no XP glitch’ - myself included - but others are going to have to wait it out until Monday for the irksome problem to go away.
