Northway Games is today releasing Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadsville on PC. It’s quite a name isn’t it? What the heck is it though? It’s a strategy and simulation game where we lead survivors in randomised cities.
We start small with a puny fort against the great zombie hordes and slowly expand block by block in the city, rebuilding as we go. We’ll have to contend with scavenging, expanding, defending, NPC factions and story events.
The small developer says Rebuild 3 has ”10x the content” of its predecessor and it’s the first time it’s available through Steam and GOG.com. It’s got ”heavy narrative and roguelike gameplay” and mixes a little of SimCity, The Walking Dead and FTL together.
It may be more accurate to describe Rebuild 3 as a 4X zombie strategy, as it includes research, diplomacy and trade as well. It takes a humorously dark approach to its world.
It can be played either in real-time or turn-based,. As leader we will decide the general direction as we attempt to rebuild society. It’s currently a Steam Early Access title.
