Retribution, the second, final, standalone expansion for Dawn of War II is turning five this month! To celebrate, not only is Relic releasing some new DLC, they’re giving it away for free!
The game’s Last Stand mode will soon see its eighth playable champion, the Necron Overlord. This warscythe-armed champion can take out foes with either long-ranged attacks or area-of-effect melee blows. He’ll be available starting March 10, and until March 15, he’ll be absolutely free. The DLC will be $9.99 from then on.
Alongside the new character, a patch will add new achievements and some community-requested gameplay improvements. “We’re so lucky. We get to keep adding new content and polish to Retribution all because of the continued enthusiasm of its fans,” said Phillippe Boulle, Relic’s Principal Designer.
Those attending the PC Gamer Weekender in London March 5-6 will have an exclusive first chance to check out the new character.
