Are you excited about the latest addition to the Battlefield series? In just under two weeks you’ll be able to watch the first live gameplay footage of Battlefield 1. On June 12 at 02:00PM PT, EA will be showing off a 64 player match featuring Battlefield community members, as well as some of the most well-known Battlefield YouTubers/Twitch streamers. EA say they’ve also got some special guests, but we’ll have to wait until the 12th to find out exactly who they are.
We don’t know how exactly they plan on streaming the event, but given that some of the players made up in the squads are going to be Twitch streamers, we would expect those players to stream their gameplay feed. The last time EA did anything like this, it was with Battlefield: Hardline. At E3, EA showed off Battlefield: Hardline running ‘online’ (some people claim it was scripted) and immediately announced an open beta for the game.
Judging by EA’s rush to show the game off already, we imagine the developers must be quite confident the build of the game won’t have any bugs or issues. For such a large game, it would be understandable if the developers did what they did with Battlefield 4’s Shanghai demo and just show off a scripted event. We will see if the developer’s confidence pays off come June 12th.
