UPDATE: 03/08/2016</b> - Activision has issued a statement to apologise for the damage done by the ports of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Ultimate Alliance 2, which it promises will be fixed shortly.
“Both the standalone and bundled versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 feature all of its original DLC. We are still working on making the DLC for the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance available in the coming weeks as a free update for everyone who has purchased the title on these platforms alone or as part of the bundle.
“We’re focused on identifying and fixing the issues that have been occurring. Thank you for your continued patience as we address these issues.”</b>
The first patch for the PC versions have been released, which appears to fix some of the technical issues that players have been experiencing. Here’s what it changes:
* Controller mapping improvements that address both Xbox One and Xbox 360 buttons, triggers, and a problem specifically with the A button.
-
General improvements to audio and fixes for the crackling sounds.
-
Improvements to player invitations for Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
-
UI updates and fixes for desync/disconnection issues when playing online.</i></b>

Original Story
You might have heard that the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance re-releases were total disasters, because they were. The first game, at least, is pretty beloved, so bringing it to modern consoles and updating it for PC should have been an instant victory for Marvel and Activision, but a ton of issues hampered its release. Now the director at Marvel Games says fixes are on the way.
Those problems, in case you haven’t been following along at home, include sound issues, glitches, broken controller support, interface problems, and fewer graphics options than the original release. Even if we’re not talking about the PC version in particular, there’s the problem of the first game’s missing DLC. The game’s extra characters were delisted from sale some time ago, presumably due to licensing issues, and despite both hope and logic, they weren’t included in the new versions.

Bill Rosemann, creative director at Marvel Games, says both sets of issues are getting resolved.

Of course, there’s also the problem of these decade-old games being sold at $40 a pop, but that seems unlikely to be resolved.
