Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide is set to receive a new downloadable content pack from developer Fatshark sooner than we thought. The Karak Azgaraz DLC will hack, slash and shoot its way to PC owners on December 15th, 2016, with an open beta of the DLC being scheduled for December 2nd.
Vermintide has been a critical success for Fatshark with its blend of Left 4 Dead style gameplay mixed with Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy universe. Its blend of melee and ranged combat plus the asymmetrical gameplay style has resulted in a solid player base that continues to stay strong.
With the DLC just around the corner for players looking to delve into the dwarven built Karak Azgaraz, here is everything we know about the contents of the new DLC.
Maps
Karak Azgaraz is set to bring three new maps to the fold which are looking to display some impressive mountainside and dwarven hall scenery. Karak Azgaraz is set in the grey mountain region so players can expect snow, ice and atmospheric dwarven architecture.
The first map, Khazid Kro, will have players Journey through the outlying settlement of Kazid Kro in search of a Dwarfen engineer by the name of Halgrim. The Cursed Rune will have the team exploring the snow covered Grey Mountains in search of a vault containing a special rune. Finally, the Chain of Fire map will have players fighting to the top of the mountain to set the beacon ablaze and warn nearby settlements of the approaching Skaven army.
Weapons
The Dwarven ranger and the Witch hunter will be on the receiving end of all new weapons in the new content. The Ranger gets the Warpick; a large dwarven warpick which should easily smite the Scaven. Victor Saltzpyre, the Witch Hunter gains the Falchion which should help Witch hunters slice their way through the new levels.
Both weapons can only be obtained through drops and can only drop on levels included in the Karak Azgaraz DLC. No new weapons have been discussed for the other classes however, it is likely that the developers will continue to add to the DLC post launch.
Future Content
The DLC will also feature three new achievements for players to unlock. Fatshark will no doubt continue to update the game and may add new content to the Karak Azgaraz DLC such as new weapons and items. The DLC will launch on December 15th and players can get a preview of the DLC by playing the open beta on December 2nd which will feature one of the three maps.
