Offered once before in early June, the Starter Edition of acclaimed tactical squad-based shooter Rainbow Six: Siege returns.
Giving players access to the full game while altering the way 'operators' are unlocked, the limited edition Starter version gives a lot of game for little cash coming in at nearly 1/3 the cost of the base game itself.
Pushing access of the game's 16 of 20 'Operators' behind a grind-heavy wall, paying a fraction of the price means the cost of unlocking the added extras through normal means goes up from 500-2000 renown points all the way to 12,500. With 2 Operators becoming instantly available through random selection of a limited few, you'll have to work hard to unlock those remaining; though you'll be given 600 R6 Credits to unlock two of your choice from the get-go.
A handy post of the Ubisoft support page explains how users of the full-priced standard edition usually expect to unlock a new Operator in around 30-120 minutes, whereas players of the lower-cost 'Starter Edition' should look to set aside 15 hours per unlock through in-game currency.
Those looking to grab the game before the October 13th deadline should do so via the Steam page. Of course, it'll offer you the full-priced version too, if that's what you want.
