Hearthstone has had a solid run as the undisputed king of digital deck-builders, but it’s about time some competitors gave Blizzard a run for its money. We’ve been looking forward to seeing how Blizzard’s Elder Scrolls: Legends would shape up ever since its announcement last year, and it’s now finally in open beta for us all to check out.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends features decks crafted around ability scores, which will in turn determine your class. An Agility and Strength deck will take on the Archer class, which blends high-damage creatures and numerous support items to help you beat your foes, whether they’re AI-controlled or online.
We’ve got your tactical needs covered with our list of the best strategy games on PC!
Legends features a story-driven single-player campaign, serving both as a tutorial and a full-featured story for Elder Scrolls fans. Online battles take place in the Battle mode against live opponents. The Arena gives you the chance to pick a class and build a 30-card deck then and there, ensuring an even playing field.
I never got deep into Hearthstone, personally–or Magic for that matter–but I’m a big enough Elder Scrolls nerd that I definitely want to dig into Legends. The open beta is available for free through Bethesda’s launcher.
