Looking to "redefine one of gaming's most popular genres" Force Field has announced </b>Landfall</b> - an Oculus Rift bound RTS title "re-imagined for the new VR vantage point".
Already expected to be released around the end of next year, the Oculus Studios branded strategy title currently leaves a lot to the imagination when it comes to showcasing how the game controls from a virtual reality standpoint. Details are scarce, yet the trailer below talks us through the general concept of the title as a whole.
Landfall employs a routine story-line of humanity fighting each other for the last scraps of resources following a cataclysmic disaster.
While you can certainly notice the smooth camera movements achieved with in-game head tracking with the Oculus Rift headset, the studio explains how the "immersive tactical action game takes advantage of the 'diorama' effect made possible in VR". You'll go from hovering above the battlefield to jumping into first-person view when the battle needs a little more attention.
