Square Enix has been going into its backlog to bring classics over to Steam. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy VI have already found their way over and next up appears to be Final Fantasy IX.
The game recently got a Steam page and a launch window. Additionally, the PC requirements for the game have been released.
Here’s what you’ll need to run the game.

Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS or ATI Radeon HD4650 or higher

In addition, the game is going to get new high definition character models and movies, as well as autosaving and game boosters. The boosters include a few pleasantries, such as the ability to speed up the game or turn off random encounters. That last one in particular is an absolute treat.
Final Fantasy IX is slated for release on Steam sometime in early 2016.
